This is our family favorite Halloween movie. We watch it every single year. It is a classic, feel good, animated short film from the 60’s about a misfit kid preparing for a Halloween party, an adventurous dog, and a gullible boy, determined to witness a Halloween miracle. It has so much nostalgic charm and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

2. The Haunted Mansion
My siblings and I loved this movie when we were kids, but there are a couple scenes that might be a little scary for the younger kids. This spooky comedy stars Eddie Murphy, who plays a workaholic real estate agent. He gets trapped in a haunted mansion with his wife and children, and their attempts to escape and save each other bring them closer together and teach them the importance of family.

This spin on Disney’s Haunted Mansion is a tale about facing your fears. The pair get separated and each have to face their fears individually in order to escape the Haunted mansion and not be trapped there forever. This movie has themes of friendship and teamwork.

Monsters, Mike and Sully, work at a factory where it is their job to scare children and collect their screams in order to power their city. New to town, Matt and his little sister Max, go trick or treating in Salem for Halloween. Max becomes interested in the history of the abandoned house outside of town which is known to have housed witches in the 17th century. After lighting the black flame candle and the witches come back to life, Matt and Max have to keep the witches from eating all of the children to keep themselves youthful and save the town.
