When preparing for Halloween and Halloween parties, food is obviously top of mind! Little creative Halloween themed snacks and meals make Halloween so creative and fun for kids! Things that they can help with and get creative with themselves are even better and just get everyone in the holiday spirit. Here are 13 Halloween snacks for kids that we know will make Halloween fun.
This post is all about Halloween snacks for kids.
Vampire Donuts
These donuts are super quick and easy to make. You can just stick some plastic vampire teeth and candy eyes on a donut to make a fun Halloween breakfast for kids. You can take it a step further and use gel food coloring for the blood, and melt some chocolate for the hair.
Oreo Spiders
Break four pretzel sticks in half and shove them into the filling part of the Oreo to make spiders. You can add two icing dots and candy pearls or whatever you have on hand for the eyes.
Fanta Floats
These are super easy to make! You just drop some orange sherbet in a cup and pour orange soda over the top to make Halloween floats.
Graveyard Dirt and Worms
These dirt and worms have a spooky twist by adding a headstone to make it look like a graveyard. Layer some crushed up Oreo cookie and chocolate pudding in a small cup. Add gummy worms and a Milano cookie on top. You can write on the “headstone” using an edible marker or some food coloring and a small paint brush.
Monster Egg-In-A-Basket
To make this monster egg-in-a-basket, we used this bread cutter from Amazon. Just butter the already cut bread, put it on a skillet, and drop the egg in the eye hole to cook.
Jack-O-Lantern Quesadilla
Use a paring knife to cut two tortillas into the shape of a pumpkin. Add cheese to one, and cut the face out on the other. You can come up with different faces or let the kids help you design theirs. This makes an easy, simple lunch super fun and festive for little ones.
Chocolate Dipped Apple Pops
These chocolate covered apples are easy to make and have no set rules. You can get really creative with these. Cut apples into slices about 1/2 inch thick and shove cake pop sticks into one end. From here, it’s up to you! We dipped them into some melting chocolate and added some Halloween colored candies and laid them out on some wax paper in the fridge to harden. You could use caramel, orange and purple drizzle, Halloween sprinkles, etc. The options are endless!
Spooky Juice Bottles
Add some googly eyes, medical bandage, and sharpie faces to juice bottles to add a spooky twist to your kids drink!
Mummy Dogs
Stretch croissant dough into long strips and wrap around a hot dog to make it look like a mummy. Bake in the oven and add some mustard eyes!
Spiderweb Pancakes
These are way easier to make with this pancake batter squeeze bottle, but before we had one, we made them by cutting a tiny bit of the corner off of a ziplock bag and filling it with pancake batter. Add a couple of blackberry “spiders” and remember, they don’t have to be perfect!
Monster Veggie Cups
Gluing a couple google eyes to veggie cups is a super simple and affordable way to make them way more fun for kids!
Chocolate Stuffed Cinnamon Pumpkins
Make some pumpkin shaped sugar cookies and sprinkle some cinnamon sugar over the top. We hand cut these, but I highly recommend using a pumpkin cookie cutter like this one instead. Use a knife to cut out jack-o-lantern faces and fill with Nutella or melted chocolate.
Life is busy and crazy, but taking a few minutes to make snacks more festive around holidays can be super fun for kids. If you make any of these, tag us on Instagram so we can see how they turn out! Happy Halloween!
