Deciding what to get a baby for Christmas or their birthday is tough. A lot of times you don’t know what someone already has for their baby, or you don’t know what other people are going to get for your baby. Let’s face it, people love to spoil babies! That’s why I always make a gift registry on Amazon for my kiddos. It may seem extra, but everyone always mentions how grateful they are because they aren’t sure what the kids need, and it’s great for me because I can see what they are getting and get them something else!
These are some of the Christmas gifts for babies I have either personally used with my little ones, or I have put on a registry in the past. All of these items have very high ratings and are great for babies learning and development.
This post is all about Christmas gifts for babies.
Baby Balance Bike
These balance bikes are very highly rated and are great for babies development. There are no pedals, so you don’t have to worry about their feet or legs getting hurt. They can push themselves along with their feet as an introduction to riding a bike, and even to help them learn to walk.
Baby Spinning Stacking Toy
My son absolutely loved this toy. It seriously kept him busy for hours. It’s similar to a classic stacker toy but it spins as the pieces go on and its so fun for babies to watch. It also helps with hand-eye coordination, cause and effect learning, dexterity, and fine motor skills.
My First Board Books and Puzzles
This box comes with 18 board books, a set of flash cards, and two puzzles. Great for learning new words, practicing matching skills, and bonding with little ones.
Ramp Race Track Toy
This ramp race track toy is great for helping little ones develop find motor skills and learn to count. Each car has a number on it, and there are numbers on the ramps as well so they can match the numbers up. My son has this one and loves it!
6 in 1 Sensory Toy Set
This play mat comes with cars and trucks for baby to explore. The mat turns into a carrying bag for easy travel and storage. This is one of our favorites to take with us when we need toys on the go.
Wooden Stacking Rocks
These stacking rocks are great for helping kids develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. They are really pretty and a great tool for teaching colors. They are also crafted with water-based paint and natural wood so they are safe for little ones.

Interactive Alphabet Chart
This interactive, musical, alphabet chart makes practicing letters so much fun for kids. Even if they aren’t quite old enough to learn the alphabet, the sounds and music are a lot of fun and it always helps to get them started early.
Kids Musical Instruments
It’s never too early to introduce little ones to art and music. These musical instrument sets are great for allowing children to explore cause and effect and music making.
Baby Sensory Toy
This 4 in 1 sensory toy is great for babies development and has several different functions to keep them interest and active for awhile. My niece has this one and loves it!
Water Doodle Mat
This water doodle mat is a wonderful way for kids to draw and be creative without making a huge mess. My son loves to color, but he always tries to run away with the markers/crayons/chalk and draw all over the walls. This is an awesome alternative to allow him to have time to explore his artistic side without having to scrub marker off of every surface in my home.
Animal Pop Up Toy
We have two huge totes full of Mega Blocks. My kids like to use them to make huge towers and cities. They keep little ones busy for hours and really help them use their creativity. This is one that really grows with kids too because the can piece them together to develop motor skills when they are younger, and then use them to build anything in their imagination as they get older.
Baby Piano Mat
Crawling Crab Baby Toy
My niece has this toy and it is SO funny. It just crab walks around on the floor and makes noise but she absolutely loves it. It helps babies learn to crawl because they want to chase it to get ahold of it. This one is fun for babies and parents!
Farmers Market Color Sorting Set
This color sorting set is so cute and helps little ones learn their colors and sorting skills. Eli doesn’t have this one, but he has something similar and he loves it. We have so much fun practicing together!
Wooden Puzzles
This wooden puzzle set comes with six different puzzles for a great price and they are so cute! These help little ones develop hand-eye coordination and you can use them to teach colors and shapes as well.
Light Up Musical Shape Sorter
This light up, musical, shape sorter adds a fun element to a classic shape sorter. Not only will this teach shapes and fine motor skills, but it will also teach cause and effect because of the light up feature.
Stacking Ring
Stacking rings have been around forever and are great to help babies learn. This one has fun, contrasting rings to stimulate baby more. They are also all different textured to help babies develop their sense of touch.

My son got this as a gift for his first birthday and he absolutely loved it. There are all kinds of fun learning activities inside. He just got another one for his second birthday and we can’t wait to get into it!
Wooden Take Along Sorting Barn
This sorting barn promotes fine motor skills, matching and sorting, and creative play. It has a handle for easy carrying and can help little ones learn to identify animals too.
Farm Animals Toy Set
This is the absolute best gift Eli ever got. He got this for Christmas one year and we used it sooo much. It was his favorite thing to play with and we used it to learn animals, colors, numbers, matching, and to work on his fine motor skills by putting the tops on the barns. This is a must have for all babies!
Woodland Animals Toy Set
This is just like the one above, but with woodland animals and mushroom houses for mamas who prefer that aesthetic. I might get this one for the next baby, it’s so cute!
Stand Up Magnetic Drawing Board
This magnetic drawing board is great for kids to be able to draw and practice their creativity over and over without making a mess or using a bunch of materials. I love that is stands up too!
Baby shape sorter
This shape sorter is great for younger babies. They can still strengthen their hand muscles and work on hand-eye coordination, but it is a little more age appropriate for younger ones and easier for them to get the shapes through.
Learning Friends Word Book
Another one of our favorites! We had every single one of these books. I really loved taking these in the car. You can click on each word and it reads it aloud. It also plays music when you push the star. It has three different modes for endless fun!
Busy Board
These busy boards are wonderful learning toys! They have all kinds of different fine motor skill building activities for babies to play with. They are great for in the car or for working together on.
